Plant issues

I have a strip between my house and front walk. It is about 1.5 feet wide and 12 feet long. The soil is very sandy and gets full sun from around 2pm till evening. When it rains (which is almost daily here in Fl) it floods. My question is, what can I plant there that will survive the flooding and intense heat and sun?
