Hibiscus trimming

Posted in Trees over 2 years ago, 1 reply

I live in Central Florida and have a hibiscus bush approx. 6 feet tall. It is very leggy, has moderate amount of dead wood, and signs of aphids. How much trimming should I do and what else should be done? Thanks in advance for your guidance. Laura & Tim

We have about 7 hibiscus plants as a headge. You can trim off all the dead and new branches will start off towards the base of the plant. we had 1 freeze and cut almost to the top of the roots dug it up and put it in water and came back. So if you cut the dead off and good water itll come back. For the aphids get some
Ortho Max insect killer and follow insructions.
