prune a acocado tree or not?

I am growing a avocado tree in my house in a large pot. The leaves are dropping but I am getting new ones. I have one branch that is dead do I prune it and if others die to I prune them also? Then once pruned do I have to put something on the part I pruned?

It sounds like its time for it to go outside we have 4 avacodo tress that were started indoors and are now over 20 feet tall you can cut the dead branches but i would leave them on they will come back or start new growth. I had a limb snap completely in half and it just kept growing new branches and fruit didnt seem to bother it.
